Ms. Chase

My name is Melanie Chase and I have been teaching for 28 years. This is my 16th year teaching first grade and my 14th year teaching first grade at McCollom. I am married and have two children. They are both graduates of McCollom. In my spare time I love to garden. I also sail with my husband on the weekends. We are both WSU graduates, but are now big KU fans. I love teaching at McCollom, especially teaching first grade.

Ms. Birchfield

I was born and raised in Wichita. I attended McLean Elementary, Marshall and North High. I graduated from Friends University. I taught my first 8 years at Adams and 2 years at Jackson. This is my 4th year teaching at McCollom. I have two children who go to McCollom. My son is in 5th grade and my daughter is in 2nd grade. My husband is a paramedic with Sedgwick County EMS. I enjoy reading, exercising, spending time with my family and of course, teaching first grade!

Ms. Stemple

I’m Lori Stemple and I teach first grade at McCollom Elementary. I am married and have two children. Our family time involves church activities while also participating and watching sporting events. I have a strong passion for teaching young students.
